L O S T

Have you ever lost something?
Your keys? Your phone? Your cat? Your car? Your friend?
It's the most frustrating thing to deal with!
'Hello?! Where are you? I thought i left you right there.. ?'
You wonder to yourself how on earth you could be that stupid to lose something that means so much to you.
Something so valuable!
Something that only comes along once in a lifetime!
Something that you need on a daily basis!
Something that you cannot live without!
Your life depends on it.
But maybe you don't realise that yet..
I guess time will tell.
For years it's been *right there* each time you needed it. So reliable!
And now, it's nowhere to be found.
Searching high & low for it, you feel like a fool, how could you lose it that easily?
It seems you've treated it lightly & thrown it away like it was trash..

After a while, you've given up hope.
It's lost. It's gone forever.
You are never getting it back.
Then one day you stop.
You have a good, long, hard think about this..
You actually open up your eyes & look.
And you realise that what you thought you lost, this thing that was so valuable to you, that you can't envision life without, has been right in front of your face the entire time.
You just needed to see it.
And grab onto it.
But is it too late?
Perhaps life has moved on just a little bit too much.
Did you change your locks because you lost your keys?
Did you get a new phone?
Did you adopt a new cat?
Did you buy a new car?
Did you find a new friend?

~School times are good times

Ahhh to be young wild & free!
Without a care in the world!
*Pause blog. Aren't i still all of those things?! Why am i talking about it like it's millenniums ago? Hmm.*
I was thinking the other day~
Yes, i know, shock horror but i do like to try to use & abuse my brain on occasion.
Anyway, so i was trying to think of what to write my blog about today.
'School' has come up trumps.
You think that's lame? Yeah. Probably.
But for some reason you are still reading this aren't you?!
I was talking with a friend just yesterday about school.
Let's have an adventure~ an exploration, like you learn about in Geography class.
Oh the mischief you can get up to!
Getting out of school late because you were far too caught up with all the fun activities you were doing with your friends.
Looking for excuses, any old excuse, to do it all again the following day.
Going home & being sore all over your body from wrestling with your friends all day long!
Then there's those times where you discover massive scratch marks on your leg & you wonder how on earth you got them.
Or all those random bruises on your legs.. 'oh, hello there. I don't remember seeing you yesterday.'
And going home & being asked 'Whats wrong with your hair? It looks like a birds nest.' *Ohh.. That's probably from that annoying friend who just loves grabbing your hair & messing it up. Oh Good. Excellent. Brilliant.
And you thought your hair was looking ok? Ha!
Fool.
What about when you go home with a massive, fat, puffed up lip from where your friend head butted you? That's always fun.
How dare i forget! Knee high socks. Whether you are in primary or secondary, I'm sure you girlies out there would understand the ol' knee high slipping down your leg & having to snap it back up again. Over & Over & Over. *Snap.
Being tackled & pinned down & only THEN realising how small you actually are.
And your friend has the nerve to ask you 'Are you ok?' Seriously. 'Im STUCK!'

And ofcourse, it would be unfair if i didn't mention those ratty boys who only want to kiss you.
Boy: 'Lets play kiss-chasey!!'
Girl: 'Ewwww, boy germs! Go away! No!'
Boy: *cue INSTANT chase.*

Good memories until the end of time.
6-6.5 hours of fun everyday? Yes please!
Schools in Vs Schools out.

Girls are pieces of MEAT!

HA!
Just kidding.
No we definitely are not.
Surprise, surprise, we're actually people not just a nice piece of.... well, you get my drift.
Don't get me wrong, there is definitely something very nice, lovely & good about a guy who sees someone he likes & then
goes for her.
However easy or hard it may be.
Who knows where it could lead?
It could be the best gamble you ever make & if nothing works out, then atleast you've gained a friend from it.
In doing so, you'll gain her respect which I'm sure some of you guys don't care about just yet, but the select few who do care are the real gems out there.
Few & far between.
Before i go on, let me set something straight.
My dad is very traditional.
Man pursues woman.
The end.
Simple equation really.
That's what I have been brought up knowing.
Nothing makes you feel more desired than a guy who is confident enough to actually take that chance & pursue you & knows how to hold onto your attention once he's got it.
Oooh la la!
When you make her feel like this, she responds.
But.
It's when guys cross the line & feel they can treat you like a piece of meat & still win you over after doing so.
How dumb do you think we are?
(That's a rhetorical question by the way)
No thanks. Goodbye mate.
It's not the best feeling in the world.
Especially when random guys yell out obscene, rude things to you, wolf whistle at you (actually.. I must confess, I don't mind the old wolf whistle because it's nice to be appreciated when strutting down the street!)
Or when random guys grab you to dance with.
No thanks random grindy guy.
Get away from me. Yuck.
You want some love? Then don't treat me like trash.
I can hold out longer than you can.
Where has chivalry gone? Seriously.
When a guy is chivalrous towards me, it completely
blows my mind!
I never expect it. Ever.
So when it happens, it's always a lovely surprise & I feel like i owe him the world because he makes me feel that nice.
Actions always get a reaction ;)
Even if it's just something little like buying a drink for me, paying for a cab ride or bringing a bottle of wine to dinner.
Win Win Win.
It's just simple, nice & courteous.
For me, it really is the little things in life that count.
I don't need or want to be bought expensive things.
(Unless it's an engagement ring. Then, the bigger the better! Diamond. 9ct white gold please. You wont regret it.)
It makes you feel like a person, not just some piece of meat that can be used, abused & expected to still be there next time.
To my boy friends who just seem to 'get it,' you guys are champions.

ps- You'd be surprised how far a little chivalry & respect
will get you... yes. yes. yes.
