HELLO!
Welcome to 2012.
It's here. Already. WOW.
And boy has it got off to an absolutely FLYING start.
Hit the ground running.. yeah, that's a massive understatement.
Well, for me atleast :)
I know it's been a while between drinks.. aka blog entries.
Please forgive me.
When I'm on holidays, i refuse to go anywhere near a computer unless my life depends on it.
What have i been up to?
I thought you'd never ask.
I hit up Apollo Bay for 5 days with a little crew of friends.
Went onto a golf course for the first time in my life.. no, i didn't actually play, i scored for my friends & loved every minute of it!
The mind games you can play with each other on a golf course are endless.
And ruthless.
Oh, the fun! The constant banter, the snide remarks!
Never ending.
And it is excruciatingly exhilarating to observe grown men teasing each other. The anger, the excitement.. it was better than watching any Hollywood movie!
What else..
Then came the vegemite fight.
Hideousness got taken to a whole new level on a quiet street corner in down town Apollo Bay.
9 Grown people smeared from head to toe.
The locals didn't know what or who had invaded their quiet seaside town.
Monsters. City Slicker Monsters. Without a care in the world. The worst kind of tourist.
There was no escape.
And a few days later walking by the scene of the crime, we found vegemite smeared on street signs & dried into the concrete footpath.
We have left our mark.
Yep.Classy Melbournian's.
Basically, what it boils down to is this: Cider, golf, friends, breakfast at the same cafe each day ,Apollo Bay, mountain climbing, getting sucked by leeches, midnight beach swims, camping on private property, amazing races, vegemite everywhere, wine & cheese picnic on the green, at the 3rd hole, overlooking the ocean. Bliss.
**
Bondi also got paid a visit by me!
A rooftop party overlooking Bondi at nighttime, new & old friends, copious amounts of random street meetings with Bondi residents, coffee x infinity, eggs benedict, a bottle of red wine, being told i 'danced like a black person tonight,' amazing Japanese dinner, FIREWORKS galore, beers at Icebergs, a lazy day at the beach, getting ruined by waves & trying to keep the puppies in place all at the same time. Surprises.
*sigh.
It's been good. It's been great. It's not over yet...
Tonight, i fly to the Gold Coast & then onto Byron Bay.
Until next time,
Peace out.
